While at FIU, Dr. Somma co-founded the organization Operation Smile, which is the first Operation Smile club at any state university in Florida. He served on the leadership board for 4 years and helped bring awareness to the national organization and raise money that helped fund over 30 oral surgeries for children with cleft lip and/or palates.

Dr. Somma’s interest and passion for cosmetic and implant dentistry then led him to pursue a residency at Wichita State Advanced Education in General Dentistry where he honed his skills in dental implants, cosmetics, restorative, surgery, periodontics, endodontics, and prosthodontics under the guidance of the nationally recognized faculty.

Dr. Somma is a proud member of the American Dental Association and the Florida Dental Association.

Life & Hobbies

Dr. Somma was born and raised in South Florida and loves the area’s energy, diversity, and sunshine. He attributes his passion for dentistry to his childhood orthodontic and dental experiences and shares this passion with his older sister who is also a dentist.

Away from dentistry, Dr. Somma lives in Broward County with his wife, Kristen, near his parents and siblings. In his free time, he loves spending time with his family and friends, attending sporting events, golfing, going to the beach, and traveling.
